1 pound pinto beans -- washed and drained
6 cups water
1/3 cup beef suet -- chopped
2 onion -- chopped
1 clove garlic -- minced
2 pounds ground beef -- lean
3 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
4 cups tomato juice
Cover beans with water, bring to boil and boil for 2 minutes. Let stand for 1 hour. Cover and simmer until tender, about 2 hours. Render beef fat in skillet, add onions and garlic and cook until golden. Add meat; cook until meat separates and browns, stirring with fork. Add
remaining ingredients to beans. Simmer uncovered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
