Chili in a Crockpot

chili in a crockpot.

2lbs ground sausage
2lbs ground beef
3 T shortening
2 cups chopped onions
2 cloves garlic crushed
4 T chili powder
1 1/2 t salt
1 1/2 t paprika
1 t oregano
1 t ground cumin
1/2 t cayenne pepper
1/2 cup beef stock
1 28 oz can tomatoes
1 16 oz can tomatoes
4 1lb can of kidney beans

Heat shortening in skillet and brown meat and sausage, discarding fat. Combine allingredients in removeable liner, stirring well. Place liner in base and cook on low for 8-10 hrs, high for 4-5 hours or on auto for 6-7 hours.

I usually drain the kidney beans and put in the last hour or 2 of cooking so that they don't get mushy.
