Verlin's Chili
Brown 1-1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (can substitute deer meat, chicken, turkey) and 1 medium diced onion. Drain. Add 1 pkg. McCormick chili mix and 1 Tbsp. flour. Mix well. Combine 1-16 oz. tomato puree, 3 cans water and 2 medium cans dark red kidney beans (can use hot chili beans). Combine meat and liquid mixtures. Bring to a boil. Add a pinch of baking soda (this helps with acidity) and stir well. Add sugar to taste and spaghetti, if preferred. Simmer for 1-1 1/2 hours.
