Chocolate Covered Cherry Bars

Crust:
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
2 TBS. cocoa
1-1/4 c. flour
36 maraschino cherries

Fondant:
2 tsp. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
2 TBS. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Chocolate Glaze:
1 envelope (1 oz.) premelted, unsweetened chocolate
1 TBS. melted butter


Mix butter, sugar, cocoa and flour, until mixture is in fine particles. Press in bottom of 8x8-inch buttered pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool.

Mix fondant ingredients thoroughly and spread on top of cooled baked crust. Place 36 maraschino cherries (well drained) in 6 evenly spaced rows on top of fondant layer.

Combine glaze ingredients. Using a spoon, pour Chocolate Glaze over each cherry.

Makes 36 bars.
