Lemon-Filled Squares

1/2 c butter, softened
1 c sifted flour
1/4 c confectioners sugar

Filling:
2 eggs
1 c sugar
2 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp lemon juice
grated rind of 1 lemon
powdered sugar to taste


Cream butter well. Add sugar and flour and blend well. Press mixture into an 8 inch square baking dish and bake at 350 for 15 min. or until lightly brown. Cool.

Filling: Beat eggs until frothy. Add all remaining ingredients expect powdered sugar and blend well. Pour into cooled crust and bake at 350 for about 25 minutes or until it is set. Cool at least 2 hours before cutting. Dust with desired amount of powdered sugar.
