Magic Cookie Bars
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 ounce can) Sweetened condensed Milk (not evaporated milk)
1 (6 oz.) pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (3 1/2 oz) can flaked coconut (1 1/3 cups)
1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (325 deg. for glass dish). In a 9x13 inch baking pan melt margarine in oven.
Sprinkle crumbs over margarine; pour Condensed Milk evenly over crumbs. Top evenly with remaining ingredients; press down firmly.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool thoroughly before cutting. Store loosely covered at room
temperature.
VARIATIONS: sub 1 cup chopped dried apricots for choc. chips.
Sub. butterscotch chips for choc. chips OR use both.
RAISIN BARS: sub wheat germ for graham cracker crumbs and sub. raisins for chocolate chips and proceed as directed.
