Raspberry Nut Bars

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 sticks margarine
1/2 c. light brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
2/3 c. raspberry jam
2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter an 11 x 7 x 2-inch baking pan.

Sift together flour, baking powder and soda in a bowl. Beat margarine in a large bowl until creamy. Gradually beat in sugars and continue to beat until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla. With a spoon, stir in dry ingredients. Reserve 3 tablespoons pecans; stir the remaining pecans into dough. Stir together jam and lemon juice.

Press half the dough evenly in bottom of prepared pan. Spread with jam mixture. Crumble remaining dough evenly over top. Sprinkle with reserved pecans. Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown and firm. Cool in pan, then cut into bars.
