Cappuccino Cream Cheese Brownies

20 oz. bittersweet chocolate
22 tbsp unsalted butter, room temp
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 c. cold coffee
4 tbsp instant coffee or espresso powder
4 large eggs
1 c all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 c chopped walnuts, toasted
2 pkgs 8oz cream cheese, room temp
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c whipping cream


Preheat oven to 350. Butter and flour 13x9x2 metal baking pan.

Combine 12 tbsp butter, 16 oz. chocolate, 1 1/2 cups sugar, coffee & 2 tbsp espresso powder in large saucepan. Stir constantly over medium-low heat until melted. Transfer to large bowl. Cool 5 minutes. Whisk in 1 1/2 c sugar, then beat in eggs, one at a time.

Mix in flour, salt, then nuts. Pour batter into pan and bake about 20 minutes. Cool.

Beat cream cheese and 6 tbsp butter in bowl until smooth. Add powdered sugar, cinnamon & vanilla & beat. Spread cheese mixture over brownies. Cover & refrigerate 2 hours.

Chop remaining 12 oz chocolate. Mix with cream, 4 tbsp butter & 2 tbsp coffee powder in saucepan. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Cool until barely lukewarm, about 15 min. Pour chocolate mixture over cream cheese, spread gently to cover. Freeze just until glaze sets then use warm knife to cut into 2 inch long, 1 1/2 inch wide bars. Chill.
