Ghirardelli's Double Chocolate Brownies
2 Eggs
3/4 C (150g) Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 C (115g) Butter or margarine, melted
3/4 C (~110g) Sweet Ghirardelli ground chocolate
2/3 C (90g) Flour, unsifted
1/4 tsp Baking powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 C (~100g) Walnuts, optional
1 C (~200g) Chocolate Chips, optional
Preheat oven to 350F (180C) degrees.
Grease 8 or 9" square pan.
Set aside.
Using a spoon, stir eggs with sugar and vanilla; add butter.
Sift remaining ingredients together; stir into egg mixture, add nuts.
If desired add 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips.
Spread in prepared pan.
Bake 20-30 minutes.
For chewy brownies use 8 inch pan and shorter time; for cakelike brownies, use 9 inch pan and longer time.
