Pecan Pie Brownies

Pecan Pie Brownies

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tblsp. all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 pkg. brownie mix (plus ingredients on box for mix)


Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Melt margarine in a 2-quart saucepan; stir in flour until smooth. Mix in brown sugar, corn syrup, and eggs until well blended. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and pecans.

Prepare brownie mix as directed on package, except spoon pecan mixture over batter before baking. Bake 35 minutes. Cool completely.
