Raspberry Truffle Brownies
1 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (melted and cooled)
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup seedless red raspberry jam
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon shortening
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare brownies: Melt chocolate with margarine. Cool. Beat eggs and sugar. Add chocolate mixture and water. Mix. Stir in flour and baking powder.
Bake in a well greased and floured 8- inch square or 9- inch round cake pan for 30 -35 minutes. Cool.
Prepare topping: Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar. Add jam and beat. Beat in melted chocolate chips. Spread on top of cooled brownies.
Prepare glaze: Melt chocolate chips with shortening. Drizzle over cream cheese layer. Chill at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish with fresh raspberries if in season.
