Brownie mix in a Jar;
2 1/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup cocoa powder (be sure to wipe out inside of jar with a dry paper towel after adding cocoa powder)
2/4 cup chopped pecans
1 1/4 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt
Layer ingredients in a 1 quart wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding flour mixture.
Instructions to attach to jar:
1.) Empty jar of brownie mix into a large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2.) Add: 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine melted, DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE
4 eggs, slightly beaten
3.) Mix until completely blended.
4.) Spread batter into a sprayed 9''x 13'' inch baking pan.
5.) Bake at 350% for 30 minutes. Cool completely in pan. Cut into 2" squares. Makes 2 dozen Brownies
Butterscotch Brownie Mix In A Jar
1/2 cup firmly packed flaked coconut
3/4 cup chopped pecans
2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 cups flour mixed with 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt
Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart sized wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place.
Attach to jar:
Butterscotch Brownies
1. Empty jar of brownie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
2. Add: 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine, softened at room temp. DO NOT USE DIET, 2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
3. Mix until completely blended.
4. Spread batter into a sprayed 9''x 13'' metal pan.
5. Bake at 375% for 25 minutes. Cool 15 minutes in baking pan. Trim 1/2" from each of brownies (discard this later-it is overcooked). Cut brownies into 1 1/2'' squares. Cool completely in pan. Makes 2 dozen brownies.
Sand Art Brownies
Mix ingredients in a wide mouth quart size jar, just like sand art that kids make today.
5/8 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup vanilla chips
1/2 cup walnuts
Directions:
1 Mix 5/8 cup of flour with salt. In a clean wide mouth quart or liter sized jar layer ingredients in order given. Starting with flour and salt mixture and ending with walnuts.
2 Attach a decorative tag to out side of jar with following directions.

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9x9 inch square baking pan.
2. Pour contents of jar into a large bowl and mix well.
3. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2/3 cup vegetable oil and 3 eggs. Beat until just combined.
4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes 1 -9x9 inch pan.
