DROP SAND TART COOKIES

1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 c. melted butter
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix and let stand 10 minutes. Drop by teaspoonfuls on baking sheet. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 10 minutes.


SAND TART COOKIES

1 c. margarine
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. almond extract
3 c. all-purpose flour (sifted
before measuring)

Cream together shortening, sugar and salt until light. Add eggs and mix. Beat in extract and blend in flour. Take a piece of dough (size of walnut) and place one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

With floured fork, press crisscross, decorate and bake. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Place in a crock for about 2 weeks. Makes about 5 dozen
