Meringues
3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon vinegar
Beat egg whites until stiff, adding sugar slowly. Add vanilla, then vinegar, beating all the while. Plop a gob at a time on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Cook for 1 hour in a very slow oven 250 degrees. (The recipe I have doesn't mention it, but I think with meringues you leave them in the oven until they are completely cooled)
