Old Fashioned Spice Cookies

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups all-bran buds cereal (I use Kellogg's)
3/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups raisins

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and salt. Mix in cereal; set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and molasses. Stir in dry ingredients, mixing well. Mix in raisins.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto lightly greased baking sheets, 2 inches apart.

Bake for 9 to 10 minutes. (Do not overbake as cookies become very cruchy when cooled.) Cool 2 to 3 minutes, then remove to racks to cool completely.

Store in an airtight container.
