Stafford's Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine -- softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Heat oven to 350. Grease 2 cookie sheets
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in bowl. Beat butter, sugar and brown sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Beat in dry ingredients on low speed until blended. Stir in chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and nuts.
Drop dough by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 14-16 minutes. Cool on wire racks
