Amish Molasses Cookies
5 cups of sugar
2 1/2 cups of lard
4 eggs
1 cup of molasses
1 cup of hot water
3 tablespoons of baking soda
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of vanilla
12-15 cups of flour
Cream first four ingredients. Dissolve soda in hot water. Add to creamy mixture. Add vanilla and flour. Make small balls and bake on greased cookie sheet and 350 degrees.
