Chocolate Crackle Cookies

2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 c. oil
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. powdered sugar


Melt chocolate, add oil, sugar and eggs. Beat well. Add vanilla, baking powder, salt and flour and nuts and milk. Chill.

Drop spoonfuls into powdered sugar. Roll around and shape into small balls. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. (Powdered sugar will crack during baking.)



Chocolate Crackle Cookies

1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. powdered sugar


Melt chocolate. Combine with sugar and oil. Add eggs one at a time; beat well. Add vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to chocolate mixture. Stir in nuts. Chill dough.

Drop teaspoonfuls of dough into powdered sugar. Roll to coat. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on rack.

Makes 4 dozen cookies.

Caution: A too-hot oven causes the powdered sugar to disappear.

Melt chocolate. Add oil and sugar to chocolate. Beat in eggs. Add dry ingredients and nuts. Drop by spoonful into powdered sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
