Snickerdoodles
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 whole egg
1 egg yolk
1 2/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/2 cup currants or raisins
1/2 cup sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon nutmeg in a bag.
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy; beat in eggs.
Mix in baking soda, nutmeg and then flour.
Fold in nuts and currants.
Scoop up with a teaspoon, roll in bag of sugar and nutmeg.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes.
Re-roll in sugar and nutmeg while still warm, if desired.
