Snickerdoodles
1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400° F.
Mix thoroughly, butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs.
Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt.
Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls the size of walnuts.
Mix together 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon and roll balls into this mixture to coat.
Place 2” apart on ungreased baking sheet and bake 8-10 minutes or until set.
Immediately remove from baking sheet to cool.
