Formed Cookies Sultana Raisin Cookies

Sultana Raisin Cookies

1 teaspoon water
200 grams butter at room temperature
100 grams sugar
300 grams all purpose flour
1 egg yolk
200 grams sultana raisins


Grind raisins. If they are too hard to be ground, soak them in hot water for 10 minutes, drain, then grind them.

Mix egg yolk and water in a small bowl then set aside. Mix flour and sugar in a large bowl. Add flour, mix until it can be formed into a ball. Divide dough into 2 pieces.

Flour a working surface with flour, flatten both dough into 2 mm thickness. Spread ground raisins on one of the dough then top with the other one. Cut into 3 x 5 cm rectangles then transfer them onto a greased baking sheet. Brush each with egg yolk mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 175 degress C for about 30 minutes.
