TENDER TEA COOKIES
2 cups salted butter(softened)
1 cup Powdered Sugar
4 tsp. pure vanilla extract
4 cups All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp. salt
TOPPING
1 cup Fruit Filling (I buy Solo Cherry/and/Apricot Filling,It's usually located in the pudding section of your
grocer)
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
In a large bowl cream butter and sugar with mixer. Add vanilla, scraping the sides of the bowl as you go. Blend in flour and salt, mix thoroughly.
Roll Tablespoons of dough into small balls (about 1"). Place on lightly greased cookie sheets about 1" apart.
Using the back of a wooden spoon make a thumbprint size dent in the middle of each cookie.
Fill each cookie with a scant teaspoonful of filling.
Bake 15-20 minutes or just until golden brown in color. Transfer cookies immediatly onto foil paper or any flat surface. This works better then a rack because it doesn't leave marks on the cookie.
When cookies have completely cooled, dust with a sprinkling of Powdered Sugar.
