Buttery Spritz Cookies
3/4 cup butter
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
3/4 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
In a large bowl beat butter on medium to high speed about 30 seconds. Add about half of the flour, add sugar, egg yolk, almond and baking powder. Add the rest of the flour. Beat until thoroughly combined.
Do not chill dough.
Pack dough in cookie press. Force dough through press onto ungreased cookie sheets. If desired decorate with colored sugars, nuts, candies.
Bake in 375 oven for 8-10 minutes or till edges are firm and very lightly browned. Makes about 42.
