Scotch Shortbread

1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 Tbl. cornstarch

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cream butter and sugar, add flour and corn starch mixed together; no liquid. Take a small piece of dough at a time, pat to about 1/4 inch thick. Run rolling pin over to smooth, using powdered sugar in place of flour, and cut with a small cutter. Prick each cookie four times with a fork.

Bake on ungreased cookie pan at 350 degrees until lightly brown.
