Sugar Cookies
1 cup butter
11/2 cups powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tarter
1 tsp. baking soda
Cream together butter and sugar until well blended.
Add egg, vanilla and almond extracts; mix well.
Add flour, cream of tarter and baking soda; mix well.
Refrigerate dough 2 to 3 hours until chilled and rolling consistency.
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Roll sections of dough to 1/8-inch thick on floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
Bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
Decorate cookies as desired.
Yield: about 2 dozen.
