Sugar Cookies
1cup margarine
1cup Crisco
2 eggs
4 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp baking soda
6 cups flour
1 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla
Cream the butter, Crisco, eggs and sugar. Beat in half of the flour mixed with the other dry ingredients. Add the milk and vanilla, then add the rest of the flour. This dough is really stiff. Refrigerate overnight.
Roll out and cut with cutters. Bake at 375 degrees just until the sides start to brown. Do not overbake.
Creamy Frosting:
1 stick soft butter or margarine
4cups powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
Cream this together and slowly add milk until you get the right consistency. Start with 4 tbls and then add more a little at a time until you get a spreadable but not sloppy frosting.
