Cream Cheese Spritzes
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, cut into chunks, room temperature
1 cup butter or margarine, cut into chunks, room temp.
1 cup granulated sugar
1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
For decorations: red and/or green candied cherries
Heat oven to 350°.
In a medium size bowl or in a food processor beat or process cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually mix in flour until well blended.
Spoon 1 cup dough at a time into cookie press or pastry bag fitted with large star tip.
Press dough into 2-inch wreath shapes 1 and 1/2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
Gently press a cherry in center of each wreath.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes until edges and bottom are lightly browned. Remove to racks to cool.
Makes about 54 cookies.
