Avocado Butter

1 large ripe avocado, peeled, stoned and pureed
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/2 lb .(1 cup) butter, softened
1 tsp. minced onion
3 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1 tbsp. chopped fresh basil
salt to taste
hot pepper sauce to taste
Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and beat - do not use a food processor or blender.
Shape avocado butter into a cylinder and wrap in waxed paper, chill until serving time.
Makes about 1 cup.
