Grandma's Old Fashioned Ice Cream
Serving Size : 8
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
1 pinch salt
2 eggs -- or 3 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups
1 teaspoon vanilla
Heat milk.
While milk is heating, blend flour and sugar.
When milk is hot, stir in flour mixture.
Cook until boiling.
Boil gently 1 minute; cool.
Add vanilla and whipping cream; strain.
Freeze according to directions.
For Lemon Custard:
Reduce sugar to 1/2 cup, use 3 egg yolks instead of whole eggs and flavor with 3 strips of lemon peel.
