Ice Cream: Lime Ice Cream

Lime Ice Cream

1/2 Cup plus 1 Tablespoon fresh lime juice from 3-4 limes
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon lime zest
2 cups sugar, preferably superfine (reg sugar ok tho)
pinch of salt
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups milk


In a large bowl combine the lime juice, lime zest, sugar, and salt. Gradually stir in the cream and milk. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight, if possible to allow the flavors to develop fully.

Next day stir the mixture and pour into ice cream maker and freeze according to manufactures instructions.
