Bread Pudding
5 cups bread cubes(any kind of bread will work)
4 cups milk, scalded with one stick butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup raisins(optional)
Mix ingredients together and pour into buttered baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees with a pan of water beneath dish for 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or warm sauce.
Sauce:
3 tablespoons Butter or margarine
2 tablespoons Sugar
1 tablespoon Cornstarch
3/4 cup Milk
1/4 cup Light corn syrup
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Melt butter in a small saucepan. Combine sugar and cornstarch; add to butter.
Stir in milk and corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture comes to a full boil.
Boil for 1 minute. Remove from the heat; stir in the vanilla.
Serve warm sauce over warm pudding.
