Baked French Donuts

5 TBS. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 c. flour
2-1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
6 TBS. butter, melted

Sugar and cinnamon mixture (4 TBS.sugar to 2 tsp. cinnamon). Cream butter and sugar; add egg and mix well.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; add creamed mixture alternately with milk. Fill greased muffin tins half full. Bake at 350* for 20-25 minutes.

Take out of pan immediately. Roll in melted butter, then in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Makes about 14.
