Crunchy Freeze
This is a recipe from the Kellogg people that I've had for over 30 years.

1/2 cup margarine or butter
2 1/2 cup Rice Krispies cereal
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/4 cups (3 1/2 oz. can) flaked coconut
1 cup broken pecans
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, slightly softened*

Melt butter in a 13x9x2 baking pan in a slow oven (300 degrees) about 10 minutes or until just melted. Add Rice Krispies, sugar, coconut and pecans; mix well. Return to oven for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until evenly browned. Cool.

Remove half of mixture from pan. Spread remaining mixture evenly in pan. Place slices of ice cream on top of Rice Krispies mixture, smooth top until even. Sprinkle remaining Rice Krispies mixture over ice cream. Freeze about 2 hours or until hardened. Cut
into squares and place in dessert dishes; serve immediately.
