French Silk Dessert

Crust:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 lb. softened butter

Filling:
1/2 lb. butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 squares, 1 oz each, unsweetened chocolate, melted
4 eggs
2 cup whipping cream or whipped topping
chocolate shavings

Preheat to 400°. Mix crust ingredients and pat into a 13 x 9 baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned - watch carefully. Remove from oven and immediately mix again, then pat down and allow to cool completely.

Cream sugar and butter together well. Add vanilla and melted chocolate, mixing well. Beat eggs in one at a time, beating 5 minutes between each addition - very important for the success of the recipe! Pour mixture over the cooled crust and place in freezer for 20 to 30 minutes.

Remove and spread with whipping cream or whipped topping. Top with chocolate shavings. Store in freezer until ready to serve.

Makes 12 very rich servings.
