1 quart French vanilla ice cream
4 pints fresh strawberries
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1 pint heavy cream
1 cup Liquore Galliano


In very large, shallow serving bowl, soften ice cream at room temperature. Slice strawberries and toss with sugar. Let stand 15 to 30 minutes to release juice.

Whip cream very stiff and fold into softened ice cream. Stir in strawberries and Galliano. Cover bowl with foil, forming tent so as not to disturb the finished cream.

A thick layer of solid cream will form at the top, and this should not be disturbed by shaking or transfering to another dish. Chill at least 4 hours or overnight.

Serve from a deep spoon that will pick up both crust and liquid.
