Caramel Apple Pudding

3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teas. baking powder
1 teas. cinnamon
1/4 teas. salt
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped apples
1/2 cup almonds OR Grapenuts®
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup boiling water
ice cream and whipped cream


Preheat oven to 375° F.

Sift together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.

Add chopped apples, almonds or grapenuts and milk; blend thoroughly. Spread into greased 1 1/2 quart casserole or baking dish.

Combine brown sugar and butter with boiling water and stir until butter is melted. Pour over batter. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
