Sauce de la Reine
1 cup whole milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
Mix all of the ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Strain the mixed ingredients into a saucepan. Heat the mixture and stir until thickened. Serve.
Note: It is a custom to serve the Sauce De La Reine in a silver nightcap to a Mardi Gras Queen when the Mardi Gras festivities are done for the day.
