Anise Vodka
About 6 whole star anise (from Asian stores)
3/4 bottle vodka
Sugar -- start with about 4 tbsp
Combine all in the bottle. Shake regularly for about three weeks, strain, taste and add more sugar if you like. It will be a pale yellow and is very nice as an aperitif -- keep it in the freezer.
