Beer Batter

Beer Batter

2 1/4 c. Flour
1/4 c. Cornmeal
2 ts. Baking powder
1 ts. Salt
1 can Beer
1 lg. Egg, beaten
Oil for frying


Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder & salt, stirring well; add beer & beaten egg. Stir until well blended. Chill batter 15 minutes.

Dip fish or veggies into batter, coating both sides. Fry a few at a time in deep fryer @ 375 degrees until golden brown and done. Drain well on paper towels.

For thinner batter, use 1 1/2 c. of beer.
