Vermont Maple Crisp
10 small cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced into thin rings.
1 t ground cinnamon
1/2 c unsweetened apple juice
1/3 c real maple syrup
1/4 c craisins
1/4 c boiling water
1 c old-fashioned rolled oats
1 c flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 oil or butter
Preheat oven to 300° F.
Place apples in lightly oiled 9x13 baking dish.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Add apple juice and maple syrup.
In blender, puree craisins and 1/4 c boiling water and pour over apples.
In medium bowl, combine oats, flour and salt.
Add oil and mix into crumbly dough.
Sprinkle over apples.
Bake in preheated 300-degree oven until lightly browned, about 45 minutes.
