Candied Apples

8 medium size apples
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. light corn syrup
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon flavoring
red food coloring

Grease cookie sheet lightly. Remove stems from washed and polished apples. Insert wooden sticks firmly in stem ends.

Stir sugar, syrup and water together in medium size saucepan until it dissolves. Cover pan and bring slowly to a boil. Remove cover and boil rapidly without stirring to 300 degrees on candy thermometer. Remove from heat. Add red food coloring and flavoring. Stir only until evenly distributed.

Tip saucepan and dip apples. Work quickly and place on cookie sheet.
