Chocolate Covered Bananas

4 large bananas
1 pkge wooden ice cream sticks
1 (6 oz) pkge semi-sweet choclate chips
1 Tblsp salad oil

Peel the bananas and cut into thirds crosswise, insert a stick about 1" into the end of each banana piece. Place on a cookie sheet and place in freezer til firm, about 45 minutes.

In double boiler, over hot, not boiling water, melt chocloate chips with the salad oil, stirring occasionally. Pour into rimmed plate (pie plate works well).

Swirl each banana in the chocolate until covered. At this point you can also dip them in chopped nuts or coconut if desired. Return to cookie sheet and freeze for at least 30 min longer before serving
