Cherry Nut Slices
1 cup powdered sugar 
1 cup butter, softened 
1 teaspoon vanilla 
1 egg 
2 cups all-purpose flour 
2 cups candied cherries, halved 
1 cup chopped pecans 
In large bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, and egg.  
Stir in flour, cherries and pecans.  
Chill dough for easier handling. 
Divide into thirds and shape into 1 1/2 inch diameter roll.  
Wrap in wax paper and chill until firm, about 3 hours. 
Heat oven to 325ºF. 
Cut dough into 1/4-inch slices; place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet.  
Bake for 15 minutes or until brown around edges. Remove from pan immediately. 
Yield: 6 to 8 dozen.
