Double Orange Walnut Rolls

2 cups all purpose flour
1 package quick rise yeast
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons grated orange rind
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup oil
1 egg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons grated orange rind
1 teaspoon orange juice.


Preheat oven to 375.

In large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar 3 tablespoons orange rind and salt; mix well.

In saucepan, heat milk, water and oil until warm (120 to 130 degrees). Add to flour mixture. Add egg. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at medium speed. By hand, gradually stir in nuts and remaining flour to make a soft batter. Spoon batter into greased muffin pan cups.

Prepare topping: Combine 3 tablespoons sugar, 2 teaspoons orange rind and orange juice. Spoon topping over batter. Cover and let rise in warm place about 15 minutes.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm.

Makes 12 rolls.
