Orange: Winter Fruit Salad

Winter Fruit Salad

One orange per person plus 2 for squeezing
2 tbls. raisins or sultanas;
1/4 cup slivered almonds;
2 tbls. Grand Marnier/ Cointreau or OJ if you prefer not to use alcohol.
Cream or vanilla ice-cream to serve


Over a bowl/ plate, peel, segment and quarter all but 2 of the oranges. Make sure all pith is removed. Place in a bowl. Juice remaining 2 oranges. Pour juice over raisins/ sultanas and almond slivers. Add Grand Marnier/ Cointreau to the orange segments. Toss gently. Add juice, dried fruit and almond slivers. Toss gently again. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate overnight if possible. Remove from fridge 1-2 hours prior serving.

Prior serving, toss gently. Offer pouring, whipped or the best vanilla ice-cream you can afford/ find for serving.
