Topsy Turvy Coffee Ring
1/3 c butter
2/3 c firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 c crushed pineapple, drained and reserve 1 tbsp juice
2 (8 oz) cans crescent rolls (dough remains rolled)
Maraschino cherries, if desired
Preheat to 375.
Melt butter in a small saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and pineapple juice. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Pour sugar mixture into bottom of an ungreased 12 cup fluted tube pan. Top with crushed pineapple.
Remove dough from cans, but do not unroll. Cut each section into 4 slices. Arrange 10 slices standing up along outer edges of pan. Arrange remaining 6 slices standing up around center hole of pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately invert onto a serving plate. Garnish with cherries if desired.
Serve warm. 8 servings.
