Fresh Plum Cake

2 Cups fresh plums, halved
1 1/4 Cups sugar
4 tsp. lemon juice
2 eggs
1/2 Cup margarine
1 Cup flour
2 Tbl. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt


Preheat oven to 375F. Arrange plum halves in bottom of a greased 9-inch pan. Sprinkle with half of lemon juice and 1/4 cup sugar.

Cream margarine, 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons lemon juice to make a batter. Beat in eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Bake for 45 minutes, or until cake pulls away slightly from sides of pan. Serve warm or cold.
