Golden Raisin Cookies

1 cup butter, softened (no substitute)
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 eggs
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoons naking soda
1 (15 oz) package golden raisins (2 1/2 cups)

Preheat oven to 400 F. and grease baking sheets.

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add lemon juice and eggs. Combine dry ingredients, and gradually add to creamed ingredients. Stir in raisins. Roll into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets. Flatten with floured fork and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
