Greek Strawberry Pie with Phyllo

6 tablespoons butter or margarine -- melted
6 sheets phyllo dough -- about 12x16-inches
1 package cream cheese (8-oz.) -- softened
4 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 pint fresh strawberries -- stemmed
Powdered sugar


Brush a 9-inch pie plate with melted butter. Working quickly, brush 1 phyllo sheet with butter; place in pie plate, allowing ends to extend over sides. Repeat with rest of phyllo sheets, criss-crossing them alternately. Gently press down so layers of phyllo conforms to the plate sides. Gather up overhanging phyllo and press together gently to form edge crust. Brush lightly with butter. Bake in preheated 350 F. oven in center 10 minutes; with spoon back, press bottom and sides of crust againest pie plate. Continue to bake 15 minutes or until evenly browned and crisp. Cool completely on a rack.

Prepare Filling: In medium bowl beat cream cheese, 3 tablespoons honey and lemon juice until thoroughly blended. Mix in walnuts; cover and chill. Spread filling evenly over bottom crust. Arrange strawberries on top, pressing in lightly. Drizzle with remaining 1 tablespoon honey and dust with powdered sugar. Cut into wedges to serve.

Serves 6-8

Note: Crust and filling can be made ahead several hours; assemble no more than 1 hour before serving. If using frozen phyllo, thaw it and securely wrap and store unused phyllo in refrigerator or freezer for future use.
