Pecan Pie Jam (recipe & information)

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup pecans -- finely chopped
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon -- if desired
1/2 stick butter -- or margarine
1 tablespoon lemon juice


Start with equal amounts of finely chopped pecans and white sugar. Usually measured by cups. Add a pinch of salt, 1 table spoon of ginger for each cup of white sugar. 1 table spoon of brown sugar, ( and if desired 1 table spoon of cinnamon), per cup of white sugar.

Add 1/2 stick of margarine for same. Add 1 table spoon of Apple cider vinegar or that amount of lemon juice if preferred. Mix ingredients in a sauce pan large enough to hold the quantity you desire. Heat over open flame until all sugar is melted and turns to a light brown.

When cool spread on your favorite bread and enjoy your effort.
